With the launch of Curse of Ula’tek, the first major content update for Midnight, we’re sharing an updated look at our class tuning roadmap for Season 2.
The Curse of Ula’tek content update brings a broad set of class updates along with the opening of the Coiled Isle and its new challenges. As we monitor class performance across the Venomous Abyss, Mythic Keystone dungeons, PvP, Delves, and other endgame activities, we will use a combination of internal data and player feedback to identify opportunities for targeted adjustments, while preserving the strengths and gameplay identity of each specialization.
Our next planned tuning pass will arrive with the start of Midnight Season 2 on August 18, when Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties of the Venomous Abyss open and the new Mythic+ and PvP season begins. We expect to follow with additional adjustments after reviewing the first full week of live Season 2 data.
Thereafter, we will continue to evaluate balance as players progress through PvP, Mythic difficulty, push higher Mythic Keystone levels, and acquire Season 2 class sets and optimized gear. Early progression tuning will generally be conservative, especially before Ula’tek has been defeated on Mythic difficulty, to avoid unnecessary disruption to competitive progression. That said, if we notice unhealthy trends begin to emerge, we’ll quickly develop tuning changes to ensure a more equitable start to the season. Once more representative data is available, we’ll make broader adjustments where appropriate and schedule additional check-in passes throughout the season.
Our currently-planned tuning dates are listed below. Planned changes will be applied with scheduled weekly maintenance in each region.
August 18 - Midnight Season 2 begins
August 25 - First week of Season 2 tuning
September 1 - Second week of Season 2 tuning
September 22 - Fifth week of Season 2 tuning
(Additional tuning passes as needed)
